I really don’t know where to begin with Netherfriends. HOLY FUCK I LOVE THIS BAND will just have to do. Ever since accidentally stumbling into a house show in Oregon Hill I’ve been hooked. I ended up talking to the singer for practically an hour while we made fun of people going in and out of the tiny smash packed house of a venue. I guess I expected I was in for a treat but I really didn’t know just how tasty that treat was gonna be. Pitchfork has chatted about these folks, same for a bunch of other heavy hitter music blog/sites. Its about time we all help out these nice gentleman towards making millions and billions. My opinion Netherfriends… tour JAPAN. I hear the tiny jap girls adore sassy white boys who sound a little similar to Animal Collective. Oh and these guys are from Chicago but they have such a big following here in Richmond we basically just consider them family.

My mom and dad and I drove around the country roads on this beautiful-day-after-Christmas - my dad working as Locations Manager, pulling off of Highway 13 here after we almost-got-stuck-in-the-snow looking for a different barn I had found hiking-in-the-woods-before-the-snowstorm. My mom plays Verdena the Grass-Fed Cow and me, Elmer, the little piggie who made it home.

Esta presentación especial consistía en una actuación de Roy Orbison interpretando muchos éxitos en el Hotel Ambassador y la discoteca Coconut Grove en Los Ángeles, grabado el 30 de septiembre de 1987, aproximadamente un año antes de su muerte.
Elaborado por el director musical T-Bone Burnett, Orbison fue acompañado por una banda de acompañamiento que incluía a muchos artistas intérpretes o ejecutantes musicales notables. Todos los aficionados que se ofrecieron como voluntarios para participar en el especial.
